Leadership & Speaking

The inaugural Founders Accelerator episode in Bahrain, hosted by the Society for Human Capital Management, marked the beginning of something significant. Through the collaboration of BrandBeat Global, Stalliongates, and Spectrum, we created a platform that goes beyond typical startup events. Alongside Dr. Salah AbdulRahman and Shafaat Hashmi, I addressed what Bahraini youth are genuinely confronting: how to build sustainable businesses when technology shifts faster than traditional education can keep pace. The session provided frameworks for identifying viable opportunities, understanding investor expectations, and building with discipline rather than just speed.

LEAP continues to cement itself as the Middle East’s premier tech conference, and being part of this year’s investor conversations was incredible. The ‘Rise of Forgotten Markets’ panel tackled one of the most fascinating investment themes – how overlooked regions and sectors are creating unexpected opportunities for those willing to look beyond the obvious. What made this year special wasn’t just the main stage discussions. Between panel sessions, I had one-on-one meetings with 15 startups, each bringing unique perspectives on everything from fintech innovations to sustainable tech solutions. The diversity of ideas and the quality of founders was impressive – these conversations reminded me why events like LEAP matter. From intimate investor dinners to the massive exhibition halls, the energy was contagious. You could feel the shift happening in real-time as traditional investment patterns give way to more creative, cross-border thinking.

LEAP 2024 in Riyadh was where scale met substance. Sharing the Investor Stage with a panel collectively managing over $120 billion in assets delivered the kind of investment discourse that cuts through the noise. The conversation with Saudi Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdullah Alswaha revealed how seriously KSA is approaching women’s education, entrepreneurship, and empowerment initiatives – these weren’t platitudes, they were funded commitments. Between the main stage and three days of founder meetings, I evaluated dozens of startups that showed me the Middle East’s ecosystem is moving from potential to performance. My role as both speaker and judge gave me a front-row seat to watch transformation happen in real-time, and honestly? The ambition here isn’t just impressive – it’s infectious.
